Hi, welcome back.

After finding out what makes you different there are a few ways to cope with it. Personally, I use different coping exercises to express and deal with my differences. I am going to share some of these coping exercises and hopefully I can help some of you.

Having bipolar depression can make things hard. Normal everyday things, like getting ready in the morning or doing work or any other everyday activities. It is also hard to take care of yourself.

Simple tasks like brushing your teeth or getting up to use the bathroom is difficult because depression makes everything feel too much. Through the years I’ve learned to cope with this but it is not easy. It’s not something you can to overnight. It’s a proses and the first step in learning to deal with it is to first admit you have a problem.

That can be hard but it’s an important step. Identify what you have trouble doing and start fin ding ways to make it easier for yourself.

So, let’s identify my problems, I find it hard to wake up and get the motivation to get out of bed. I have a problem getting motivated to do my work and I have a problem taking care of myself.

Next, we should find a way to make it easier for yourself, a way to cope.

I cope with waking up in the mornings by setting a lot of alarms, an alarm for waking up, making my bed, getting dressed and brushing my teeth. The alarms help me remember what I must do and forces me to get into a routine. A routine is important.

Another way I cope is with fashion. I love doing my makeup and putting outfits together. Even if I have nothing to do that day, doing my makeup and getting dressed up makes me feel like I have achieved something. It’s a way I get motivated to do things and stay out of bed.

You should find something you love and make that apart of your everyday routine. Doing something you love everyday can improve your mood and give you the motivation to do other things.

Next you should find an outlet for your emotions. Having depression makes you have a lot of deep thoughts and its important to find a way to get rid of that thoughts before they become to intense and start effecting your life.

Talking to somebody you trust is a good start, but I understand that it can be hard, so if you do not feel comfortable talking then you should try writhing.

Even if you don’t have a good way of words, writing words on a page can make you feel so much lighter. It does not even have to make sense. Writhing a few random words on a page can make such a big difference.

If you don’t want to talk or write, draw. A few lines or scribbles on a page is al you need.

I use writhing as my outlet and sometimes draw if I can’t find the words.

Everyone had a different way of coping with there problems its important to try a few and find the one that works for you. Coping looks different for everyone because nobody feels and deals in the same way.

So don’t be discouraged. It takes time and that’s okay, just don’t give up and keep trying. Just know it is harder for some people so don’t feel bad if it takes longer for you than it does for other people.

Celebrate every achievement even if it is a small one. You can do it just take your time.
